Hope begins with veterans.
Veterans offer hope and protection for our nation. As such, it is imperative that we care for them. The Green Zone Veterans Community Center is a program developed by Highland Rivers Behavioral Health. The program supports and provides resources for veterans with mental health challenges or substance use disorders. Further, the Green Zone Veterans Community Center also helps their families and partners.
It is a peer-led center that provides a supportive environment for veterans. Our center will foster camaraderie among those with similar military experiences, challenges, and language.
By donating, you will help provide resources to affected veterans. You’ll support the provision of housing, food and household assistance. This includes clothing, transportation and other family needs. Veterans will have access to Highland Rivers Behavioral Health’s clinical treatment services. Services include crisis intervention, residential treatment programs, clinical treatment groups, and family counseling. All Green Zone services are specific to veterans’ needs. These needs include mental illness, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST), and substance use.
What is needed:
- The Initial funding needed for the Green Zone is estimated to be $1.4 million.
- The Highland Rivers Foundation is seeking a single-story facility between 3,000 and 10,000 square feet. Layouts like a ranch-style home, former healthcare clinic space is ideal. Also, this space should be conveniently located in Cherokee County.
