Highland Rivers Foundation

About Us

The Highland Rivers Foundation exists to ensure that no one in our community is turned away from behavioral health care because of their ability to pay.

Founded in 2018, the Foundation supports the life-changing work of Highland Rivers Behavioral Health (HRBH), a state-designated provider serving more than 21,000 individuals each year across 13 counties in North Georgia. Through HRBH, children, adults, families, and veterans facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and crisis situations receive critical care—often at little or no cost.

But public funding alone is not enough to meet the growing need.

That’s where the Foundation comes in.

The Highland Rivers Foundation bridges the gap between what is funded and what is truly needed to provide high-quality, compassionate care. Through philanthropy, we help remove barriers to treatment, expand access to essential services, and invest in safe, supportive environments where healing can happen.
Because of this support, individuals are able to begin recovery, families are reunited, and lives are changed.

Together, we are building a stronger, healthier community—where everyone has the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive.
